ULPGC

The Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) has a strong marine science faculty, comprising the full range of marine sciences from physical, chemical to biological and geological oceanography. According to a recent report by the "Fundación de Conocimiento y Desarrollo“ it is placed in first position among Spanish Universities in terms of its scientific productivity in marine sciences. A complete set of fully-equipped biological, geochemical, radio-isotopes and molecular laboratories, as well as a facility for microalgae culture and conservation will be available for the partnering.

PLOCAN

The Plataforma Oceánica de Canrias (PLOCAN) is a multipurpose service infrastructure to give support for research, technological development and innovation in the marine and maritime sectors. Its mission is to accelerate technologies and knowledge to a responsible and sustainable use of the ocean. PLOCAN also promotes long-term observation of the sea, providing a costeffective combination of services and facilities, such as ocean observing platforms, marine test sites, underwater vehicles and training and innovation hubs.

GEOMAR

GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel is one of the world’s leading institutions in the field of marine research in Europe. The center’s mission is to investigate the chemical, physical, biological and geological processes in the ocean and their interactions with the seabed and the atmosphere. Its mandate is to conduct interdisciplinary research of all relevant aspects in modern marine sciences in all oceans and adjacent seas.
